My first name is Elspeth, and it’s pronounced exactly like it looks. Els-peth. You wouldn’t believe how many people seem to have problems with it xD
(I usually go by Ellie, and a lot of people at my school like to pronounce it more like “Ali.” This wouldn’t be a problem if they then didn’t slur their words when they are talking to one of the girls named Ali so it sounds like “Ellie”….)
